What type of Rennet is used in your cheese?
Ah, the cheese alchemy secret! We've got two types of rennet in our cheesemaking toolbox: Animal and Microbial (Vegetarian) Rennet. Most of our cheese is crafted with the magic of Microbial Rennet, while a select few use Animal Rennet (look for the ⭐️ next to their names in our Cheesemonger Descriptions). Oh, and fun fact: even our House Aged Buttermilk Bleu dances to the tune of Vegetarian Rennet, despite being made with raw milk. Raw milk = animal rennet; pasteurized milk = vegetarian rennet. Easy peasy, cheesy!
Are the cows 100% grass-fed? How are the cows treated?
Our cheese VIPs, like the Pleasant Ridge Reserve, are indeed made from 100% grass-fed milk by the fine folks at the Creamery. They keep it old-school, following traditions passed down through centuries. As for our other cheeses, they enjoy a special blend of both grass-fed and grain-fed goodness. Our cows are living the high life, receiving top-notch nutrients and the royal treatment. Happy cows make the best milk, and our blessed cheesemakers know it!
Do you use Hormones or Antibiotics?
Absolutely not! We're all about clean, pure milk. Every drop we use is hormone (rBST/rBGH) and antibiotic-free. Your cheese deserves nothing less!
Do you sell dairy-free cheese?
